Dr. K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao known as KVP (born 21 June 1948), is a Member of Parliament in India and chief adviser to the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He belongs to Indian National Congress.[1] He was a top aide, confidante, and right hand man to YS Rajasekhara Reddy.[2] He is also instrumental for pressing the candidature of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the Chief Minister’s post.[3]

KVP Ramachandra Rao was born in Ampapuram, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. He is from Telprolu Zamindari Family and he belongs to Velama caste. He did his M.B.B.S. at Gulbarga in Karnataka. He is two years junior to Y.S Raja Sekhar Reddy. They were best friends since then.
KVP Ramachandra Rao, being a close friend of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was appointed as chief Advisor to Government of Andhra Pradesh on Public Affairs in cabinet rank in May 2004.[4] He was elected to the Upper House of the Indian parliament, the Rajya Sabha in April 2008.
He is the chairman of the Advisory Committee on Public Affairs, Public Utilities and Public Welfare Activities.
KVP Ramachandra Rao is married to Suneetha and they have a son Ujwal Kotagiri.[5]
